Please note: This position will be employed by our Arcera Affiliate (Acino International Switzerland), which is part of Arcera Life Sciences.
The Director of Tax plays a key role in Arcera’s global tax function, supporting the VP of Tax in developing and executing the Group’s global tax strategy. The role is responsible for managing all aspects of tax reporting and planning across multiple jurisdictions, providing technical leadership and oversight of global tax operations, acting as a trusted advisor to finance, treasury, and business stakeholders. This role will be part of both the GenMed & TechOps Division Finance Leadership Teams in order to balance strategic insight with execution excellence, ensuring alignment between business and tax objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Advisory
- Act as a subject matter expert on international tax matters.
- Support international structuring, financing, and cross-border transaction reviews, ensuring tax-efficient and compliant outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret new international tax regulations, including OECD, BEPS, and Pillar II developments, and assess their implications for Arcera.
- Provide practical tax input on business initiatives, transactions, and intercompany arrangements.
2. Transfer Pricing
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Group’s transfer pricing policies and documentation.
- Support Tax Operations with the preparation of Master File, Local Files (including the Swiss Local File), and other related filings.
- Review intercompany transactions to ensure arm’s-length outcomes and compliance with OECD principles.
3. Global Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Support Tax Operations in reporting projects to ensure compliance with filing obligations and internal control standards for tax reporting globally.
- Support Tax Operations in the preparation of tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and effective tax rate analysis under IFRS.
4. Risk Management and Tax Controls
- Contribute to maintaining and improving the Group’s Tax Control Framework.
- Support management of tax audits and inquiries, including interactions with Swiss and other tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with economic substance requirements, country-by-country reporting, and global minimum tax regulations.
5. Process Improvement and Policy Development
- Support standardization and automation of tax processes across jurisdictions.
- Contribute to drafting and updating tax policies, procedures, and internal training materials.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, finance and IT teams to improve data integrity and process efficiency.
6. Stakeholder and Advisor Management
- Partner with Finance, Treasury, and Legal teams on tax matters affecting business operations.
- Manage external advisors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective service delivery.
- Communicate complex tax concepts in clear, actionable terms to non-specialist stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in tax or finance
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Swiss tax expert diploma or equivalent international qualification as advantage
- Minimum of 10 years of tax experience in international environment, in-house tenure is preferred
- Strong technical and practical understanding of international taxation, including transfer pricing and OECD frameworks.
- Experience managing international tax projects, reporting, and audits.
- Strong expertise in Swiss tax compliance and advisory, with exposure to cantonal and federal regimes.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to build a network in the organization
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in German is an advantage.
