JOB PURPOSE
Digital commerce is forecast to be the fastest-growing channel over the next five years and for Unilever to win we must stay ahead of the growth. The core purpose of this role is to own and set the digital commerce strategy for your retailers to drive online category growth and win Unilever market share through full omni-channel execution.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
As an E-commerce Channel Manager, you will create a plan to unlock growth through your omni-channel retailers while driving the digital commerce agenda both externally and internally. You will assess customer online category performance and market insights to drive action, deliver on perfect store online and be pivotal in educating stakeholders whilst helping to shape an organisation that enables us to compete in the future.
You will be external facing - partnering directly with retailer online, commercial, and category teams to drive digital learning and capabilities. This in turn will enable you to deliver on joint e-commerce ambitions and cement Unilever as industry leaders for digital.
Within Unilever, you will work cross-functionally with CD Account Management, Shopper Marketing and Retail Media, plus with our colleagues in the BU CMC and Brand teams. Your ability to collaborate across different teams will be essential to build fully holistic Omni-channel plans that deliver a seamless shopper experience instore and online.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
The successful candidate will be skilled in building strong external and internal relationships where this role requires a high level of cross-functional working. The ability to influence retailers will be pivotal to guide them on their digital road-mapping and have real impact on delivering joint business growth ambitions. You will be data-driven and confident in analysing data to build the selling story and ultimately set the digital strategy with your retail partners. Passion for digital commerce and driving the agenda internally and externally is a must.
Experiences & Skills required
• Ability to work with and appropriately challenge retailers on their digital ambition and capabilities and work in partnership on the future strategy
• Harness relevant category, channel and shopper insights and turn into strategic actions.
• Obsess over how our brands show-up on the Digital shelf in our retailers, continuing to improve and optimise our position
• Able to communicate in a compelling and persuasive manner, delivering inspiring category-based sell in stories to retailers.
• Understand retailer dynamics and strategy & put the shopper at the centre of what we do.
• Engage stakeholders, working with customers, colleagues, and experts.
• Track and evaluate activations and ensure that learnings are shared internally, delivering against KPI’s
• Have a data-driven mindset, running or learning to use data analytics from Kantar, Power BI, Data Impact
• Able to work cross-functionally and adapt to different individuals and retailer working styles
• Be a talent catalyst who shares learning amongst and beyond the team to build knowledge and growth
