Ramp & Baggage Agent
Location: Birmingham International Airport
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31st October 2026
Hours: 30 hours per week, between Monday – Sunday (must be fully flexible and work any 5 out of 7 days)
A UK Manual Driving Licence is required for this role.
Salary: £12.41 per hour

About the Role:
In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of aircraft, passengers, and cargo.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Deicing, Glycol Recovery, Ground Handling, and all related ancillary equipment, both safely and efficiently
- Conduct aircraft de/anti-icing operations and perform other associated tasks
- Conduct aircraft post de/anti-icing inspections and tactile inspections
- Conduct fluid testing and replenishment of equipment fluids
- Operate data transfer and communications equipment
- Generate and maintain records and logs
- Perform ramp servicing/ground handling functions as required.
- Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements
- Comply with Swissport's standard operation procedures (SOPs), QHSE Manual and policies
- Follow training and rules, apply correct procedures and use personal protective equipment as instructed
- Only perform tasks for which they are trained for. If in doubt, colleagues shall stop the action and seek advice from the Duty Manager
- Share personal Health & Safety, Environment knowledge with others
- Report any incident, near miss, unsafe act or condition according to this manual. In case of doubt stop the task and consult superior for guidance.
- Perform duties conscientiously, without putting themselves, others, or the environment at risk
- Performs all cleaning duties if required
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must possess a valid FULL UK MANUAL driver's license and be able to pass a background check
