The Controller is responsible for the direct supervision, development and mentoring of the accounting staff. Additionally, you will assist with the accounting, risk, budget and audit functions and will be responsible for the oversight and completion of multiple accounting assignments of a complex nature with strict office and finance deadlines.
What You’ll Do…
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Manage outsourced function(s)
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
- Conduct cross-functional training to develop skilled depth within the department and corporate services
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Ensure month-end processes are completed by assigned deadlines as well as all required account reconciliations
- Ensure customer set up and billing is done timely and accurately
- Issue timely and complete financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of annual budget and forecasts
- Provide for a system of management of site profitability reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors
- Provide proactive analysis of financials related to the Aftermarket segment of the business. Look for insights with revenue and expense accounts that can assist Operations
- Seek out areas of improvement for internal processes and coordination with field operations
What You Need…
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, CPA and/or MBA is preferred
- 8+ years in the accounting / finance field
- Strong knowledge and experience with ERP systems
- Experience with budgeting, variance analysis and management reporting
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Proven leadership and management skills
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
