As a Lead Product Manager for Overwatch 2, you will have a critical role in designing and optimizing monetization systems, player rewards, and leading the overall business operations for Overwatch 2. As a member of the Live service leadership team, you will use your extensive product management expertise and deep understanding of the gaming industry to deliver an engaging and profitable player experience. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic development and execution of monetization and reward systems for Overwatch 2, ensuring alignment with both game experience and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee in-game shop operations, optimizing content strategies for microtransactions (MTX) as well as Battle Pass design.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of innovative and impactful player-reward systems that are intuitive, balanced, and support the overall game economy.
  • Utilize player feedback, gameplay analytics, and performance metrics to assess system effectiveness and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Design and conduct A/B testing and experiments to analyze the effects of gameplay modifications on player engagement and monetization outcomes.
  • Partner effectively with game designers, engineers, artists, and UX/UI specialists to define, prioritize, and enhance features and mechanics related to monetization and rewards.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, marketing, and publishing teams to formulate and implement business strategies, including pricing, monetization frameworks, and sales campaigns.
  • Partner with Marketing and PR to develop thoughtful messaging and positioning strategies regarding reward systems.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, evolving player preferences, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and encourage innovation.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, with 6+ of those years in product management within the gaming industry, specializing in monetization systems and/or live service environments. Big plus if you’ve worked on a AAA free-to-play live service game at scale.
  • Proven expertise in live service games and a thorough understanding of free-to-play business models.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in leveraging data and metrics to inform decision-making and optimize reward structures. SQL knowledge and advanced excel capabilities are a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective collaboration across functional areas and external partners.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Experience mentoring and developing teams of product managers.
  • Enthusiasm for shooter or first-person shooter games; strong knowledge of the Overwatch franchise in particular is a big plus!
  • MBA or an equivalent graduate degree is preferred.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $134,320.00 - $248,404.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
