We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Service Supervisor to join our team in Mount Isa to oversee day-to-day service operations, leading a team of technical and ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of maintenance and repair work. This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday role.

What you’ll be doing:
As a Service Supervisor at Hastings Deering, you will:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor technicians – Guide and support your team across daily service activities to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee job planning and scheduling – Manage work orders and allocate resources effectively to keep operations running smoothly.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery – Maintain company standards by completing work safely, on time, and to the highest quality.
- Provide technical expertise – Offer hands-on technical support and guidance to resolve complex issues and enhance team capability.
- Engage with customers – Build strong relationships through clear communication, regular updates, and proactive issue resolution.
- Drive efficiency and improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance safety, streamline workflows, and improve service delivery.
- Support administration and reporting – Assist with resource planning, job costing, and accurate reporting to maintain operational excellence.
- Champion safety and company values – Promote Hastings Deering’s safety culture and uphold our core values in every aspect of your work
What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Qualified and experienced – hold relevant qualifications in Business Administration and/or Certificate III in Engineering Diesel Fitting (preferred)
- Industry knowledge – proven experience in frontline service within heavy mining and construction industries.
- Systems capability – confident with computing, including Microsoft AX and Power BI.
- Team and department leadership – Skilled in managing a service department, driving team performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Technical expertise and product knowledge – in-depth understanding of Caterpillar machinery, products, and services.
- Safety focused – committed to maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.
- Customer-oriented communicator – highly developed verbal and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Thrives under pressure – able to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on expectations.
