- $70,000 to $95,000
Requirements
- 5-10 years related leadership experience in a manufacturing company overseeing a Machine/Die/Mold Shop
Responsibilities
1. Troubleshoot daily production issues, process, and equipment; recommend and implement process/equipment efficiency and quality improvements.
2. Schedule all Machine Shop Work: resinks, new dies, holding dies, new and reworked auxiliary equipment, maintenance machining.
3. Review, analyze and enforce proper incentive time records.
4. Update/Complete current resink list/hours, new die activity/hours, new auxiliary tooling work/hours.
5. Maintain current die block/insert inventory, Machine Shop files and Die Shop/Die Storage Machinery
6. Supervise union personnel and Die Shop tractor driver.
7. Assist the Purchasing department on the following: new die blocks, parts and service for all machine tools in the die shop/storage area, cutters and other miscellaneous items, all insert material.
8. Monitor and report production; serve as a key driver for shift safety improvement.
9. Review of incoming material certifications for completeness and accuracy.
10. Generation of Specification Sheets for tool and die shop.
11. Provide direction and leadership to the production crew to accomplish organizational goals.
12. Coordinate die changes and address daily production and quality concerns with staff and other production members.
13. Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise job results;
14. Maintains workflow by monitoring all steps of the process, observing control points and monitoring equipment and resources.
15. Implement cost reductions, develop reporting procedures and systems; facilitate corrections to malfunctions within the production process control points; initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within the department.
16. Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and documenting listed items to be addressed.
17. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
18. Assist in implementing continuous improvement activities.
19. Perform environmental audits and recordkeeping.
