We are seeking a Product Line Engineering Lead (PLEL) to coordinate and manage engineering activities across our Merrimack, New Hampshire, Austin, Texas, and Huntsville, Alabama for one of CEMA’s fastest‑growing product families – Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS). In this role, you will serve as the primary engineering leader for the product line, driving program execution and delivering against schedule, cost, and performance targets; fostering new‑business growth by identifying market opportunities and shaping solution roadmaps; leveraging existing technologies to maximize product reuse; guiding product evolution to incorporate emerging capabilities and customer feedback; and championing continuous improvement of processes, tools, and engineering practices. The PLEL provides engineering leadership throughout all lifecycle phases, from concept and development through sustainment and end‑of‑life. This position reports directly to the CEMA Business Area Engineering Director.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Partner with the Product Line Director and staff to develop and deliver products and systems that meet our customer needs.
  • Partner and collaborate across all the disciplines, functions, and business areas to effectively support engineering across the enterprise.
  • Meet cost, schedule and technical performance for Product Line projects through their life cycle.
  • Ensure preparation and approval of competitive engineering bids that are executable, meet established price-to-win targets, and grow the business.
  • Serve as overall customer (internal / external) engineering point of contact for the product line.
  • In collaboration with the Product Line leadership team, prepare and communicate Product and Technology Roadmaps that sustain and grow the business.
  • Identify and support the development of critical skills and resources.
  • Develop and maintain measures related to engineering performance.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvement activities and ensure adoption within the organization.
  • Ensure proper application of process based on the size and complexity of the project.
  • Establish goals, performance standards, budgets and staffing plans.
  • Improve processes and skills that support programs.

As a leader and supervisor, the PLEL must also:
  • Work across organizational boundaries to solve problems and secure resources.
  • Recruit, train, develop and retain Program Engineering Managers (PEMs) and teams to meet business needs.
  • Perform supervisory duties in alignment with the business.
