Purpose Statement:
This position is responsible for tteaching students at Sheridan Hills Christian School, with an emphasis on providing quality instruction aligned with the curriculum objectives and a biblical perspective.
Personal Qualifications:
- A born-again believer with a personal testimony of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
- An active member in good standing at a Bible-believing church.
- Demonstrates Biblical qualities of a Christian role model in all areas of life: public, private, at home, work, and in the community.
- Practices principles of Christian growth, including prayer, study, witnessing, and discipleship.
- Physical and mental capability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from a recognized college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
- Support and endorse SHCS's policies and Christian Philosophy of Education.
- Meet continuing education requirements, as applicable.
Job Goals

- Meet curriculum progress expectations as outlined in the curriculum guides.
- Integrate Biblical principles into each subject area of the instructional program.
- Manage time effectively, ensuring adequate attention to each subject while staying on schedule.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for each lesson and unit.
- Follow a program of study that meets the individual needs, maturity level, and abilities of students.
- Foster student interest through creative presentation and use a variety of methods to effectively communicate content.
- Ensure students maintain appropriate posture, participation, and organization of materials and responsibilities.
Classroom Management
- Meet and instruct assigned classes at the designated times and locations.
- Demonstrate punctuality in attending class, meetings, devotions, and morning duty. Ensure adequate time after school to complete responsibilities and prepare the classroom for the next day.
- Attend staff meetings, devotions, staff development, serve on faculty committees, and participate in school activities as required.
- Prepare for classes and demonstrate evidence of preparation in the form of lesson plans on RenWeb.
- Implement consistent classroom procedures and habits to effectively manage students and facilitate learning.
- Balance discipline with firmness and love, maintain control, and implement the school's discipline program.
- Build students' self-esteem through a positive classroom atmosphere, rooted in unconditional love and our identity in Christ.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the classroom daily.
- Safeguard school property, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Ensure students’ health, safety, and welfare by adhering to relevant school policies and procedures.
Student Evaluation
