Job title: Associate Child Development Manager

The Associate Child Development Manager (ACDM) role serves as a pathway to advanced leadership opportunities, fostering professional growth and development within the organization. In this role, you will:

  • Supervise a cohort of child development staff in the planning and implementation of the EHS-HS program.
  • Manage a small designated geographic are with specific sites in the context of a management team.
  • Oversee high quality services provided by the teaching staff to enrolled children and their families. Services include screening, assessment, individualization, child outcomes tracking and coordination of overall comprehensive child development, mental health, disabilities, nutrition, health, parent involvement and family development (Quality Teacher Practices/2 Generation Model).
  • Monitor status of all enrolled children’s outcomes; Utilizes the expertise and collaborates with program consultants.
  • Manage classroom systems and services to ensure environmental health, safety and supervision to meet requirements for State Department of Health Services Regulations; Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC criteria.
  • Ensure program documentation and provides quality assurance activities to maximize program outcomes.
  • Assure collaboration and integration of the integrated services team for high quality early childhood development, mental health, health, nutrition, safe environments, and disability services with both inter- and intra-agency service (One Child, One Family, One Team).
  • Assist Program Managers and Director in planning, developing, and monitoring program service, policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of program services-related to 5 Year Grant Plan goals and objectives; Collaborates with public school and community personnel.
  • Work under general direction, according to agency mission, philosophy, Core Values, Codes of Ethics, and goals.

 

What it takes:

  • Enrolled in a BA/BS degree program in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, related field
  • 2 years of experience working in early childhood education, preferably Head Start
  • Knowledge of DAP and Bilingual Education
  • Ability to speak, write, and read Spanish is preferred
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR, Food Handler’s Card, and Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • Functional knowledge of Child Care Licensing Requirements
  • Knowledge of Department of Child Safety reporting mandates
