Job Summary:
This position is intended to be for Sr. System Administration with a strong focus on Hyper-V clustering, O365, and Active Directory, The candidate will be responsible for supporting our local and remote datacenter environments for our customers as well as our internal users. Candidates will be expected to become subject matter expert on the respective technologies/systems they are responsible for. The IT team has a diverse set of responsibilities and that allows for significant opportunities for individual contributions to the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the System Administrator will be to support our customer environments in both local and remote datacenters in US and Canada.
- Provide daily monitoring, maintenance, and administration of assigned IT systems, applications, and servers (2016/2019/2022/2025)
- Participate in technical discovery and provide input on project design/delivery
- Collaborate with network/DBA/development teams
- Work with network and security engineers to maintain rigorous security posture
- Maintain regular backups of all environments
- Assist with maintaining third-party software/hardware vendor relationships
- Maintain strong documentation skills and ability to share information with team members
- Meet established service and training goals as measured by supervisor
- Communicate problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and team leads
- Participate in on-call rotation
- The following are the minimum qualifications for the Systems Administrator role
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Associates or better in Computer Science or related field
- 6 year(s): Previous experience with hands on hardware/software troubleshooting.
- 3 year(s): Previous experience with VMWare/Hyper-V Virtualization, SQL Server, Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group Policy/DFS, Entra, patch management, centralized AV and backup management
- 3 year(s): Previous experience deploying, administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and Client Operating systems, incl. Server 2012,2016,2019,2022 and Windows /10/11.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Server/Virtualization/Clustering technologies
- SAN Storage
- IIS/DNS
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Planning, organizing, and documenting complex system design activities
- Configuring systems to be consistent with county policies/procedures.
- Communicating technical and complex information both verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivated
- Team player but also capable of working alone

- Working in RMM platform
- InTune management
- Storage Spaces Direct clustering
Work Environment:
- Office setting with a moderate noise level.
- The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
- Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
- Occasional movement around the office.
- Frequent communication via telephone.
