About the Department
Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Stationary Engineer II position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:

Stationary Engineer II is the lead and advanced journey level in the Stationary Engineer series. Incumbents in this class are responsible for performing the most difficult, complex, and/or sensitive assignments related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of hydronic systems, pumps, condensers, compressors, and related mechanical and electrical equipment used in District facilities. As a secondary assignment, positions in this class provide technical and functional direction and technical expertise to crews consisting of Stationary Engineer Is and Maintenance Workers.
Incumbents in this class report to Senior Stationary Engineer or other higher-level personnel. This class is distinguished from the next higher class of Senior Stationary Engineer in that this class does not have full supervisory authority or exercise full decision-making authority for assigned staff, which includes hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees. Incumbents must be able to plan and schedule the daily work for a specified group of employees.
This class is distinguished from the Stationary Engineer I class by providing lead direction and training to other Stationary Engineer Is and/or support staff, and personally performing the more complex and/or specialized assignmentsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either: 1. Two years of full-time, paid experience employed by the SacSewer in the class of Stationary Engineer I.
Or: 2. Four years of full-time, paid experience operating, maintaining, repairing, and installing heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, power systems, water treatment, fire life safety systems, or water and steam pressure boilers.
For Pattern 2, two years of the required experience may be substituted with acceptable proof of education or training in one of the following:

A certificate of completion from a Federal/State approved Stationary Engineer apprenticeship program.
