Your Impact
- Oversee fabrication and welding activities to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
As Part of Our Team, You Will:
- Monitor fabrication and welding activities to ensure quality.
- Follow compliance with safety protocols during fabrication and welding.
- Execute routine maintenance on welding equipment.
- Collate and report data on fabrication and welding activities.
- Support in troubleshooting and resolving fabrication and welding issues.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Schedule and complete fabrication and welding tasks.
- Guide new employees on fabrication and welding procedures.
- Perform regular inspections of fabrication and welding areas.
- Assess relevant risks, implement mitigation measures, and continuously monitor for risks.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Trade qualification or experience in related field.
- Mincom certified Sectional Engineer.
Additional Knowledge
- Several years of experience in project management, resource allocation, risk mitigation, health and safety protocols and industry standards.
- Competent ability to interact, influence and resolve conflict with various stakeholders.
- Competent experience in leading and developing teams.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance welding and fabrication, repairing and maintaining industrial or mining equipment and auxiliaries.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising welding, machining and fabrication teams, preferable in a mining environment.
Technical Skills
- Advanced understanding of project management, resource coordination, and risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Advanced knowledge and practical proficiency in project planning, delivery, tracking and monitoring, data recording and reporting.
- Competent knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for performance.
- Competent knowledge of health, safety, environment and sustainability regulations and practices.
- Competent understanding of project cost management and financial principles.
