About the role
As Manager of Network Control, you will lead the delivery of Train Control.
Manage performance and response to daily incidents, while supporting V/Line’s customer and safety charter within a complex and specialised control room environment.
Accountable for the management and resourcing of competent train controllers fulfill roster requirements in the IOC.
Key accountabilities include:
- Strong stakeholder relationships with the Internally & externally (DoT, Ministers Office, PTV) to provide 24/7 direction and leadership
- Provide staff a safe workplace where risks are identified, understood and managed and a safe environment for customers and visitors is maintained
- Lead incident reviews through data to support business wide lessons learned, proactively identifying improvement opportunities and the delivery of any findings, considering safety, customer needs and network operations.
- Monitor and review the implementation of recommendations and their effect on future network disruptions.
- Recruitment, onboarding and training Train controllers to meet operational needs
- Manage approx. 7 x Senior Train Controllers and 80+ Train Controllers, ensuring safe working delivery of the daily operations is managed. You will be the main point of contract for stakeholder management with deliverables across all functions relating to Train Control within V/Line.

- Available on call 24/7 for Safety Critical Issues
- Practical Rail Operations knowledge

Remuneration for this position will be paid as a permanent fulltime contract offering 4 weeks annual leave inclusive of 12% superannuation.
