Salary range of $65k-$75K depending on experience and education
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in administering Illinois Cement Company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
- Provide leadership and technical expertise on all environmental issues related to the Illinois Cement manufacturing plant and associated terminals.
- Functions as the plant EHS Coordinator by demonstrating a personal commitment in assisting the environmental and safety managers in ensuring that the ICC Plant positions itself to lead in environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Assists in the management of all environmental issues, including, but not limited to: permitting, pollution prevention, environmental regulatory compliance, training, inspections, reporting, auditing, testing, and contractor compliance.
- Manages the continuous emission monitors for operations, data validation and compliance issues.
- Assists in supporting environmental compliance tools and monitors that are used effectively throughout the plant.
- Maintains field presence; performs environmental health and safety inspections and providescoachingtowardcontinuousAbletodevelopemployeepersonal safety ownership and accountability toward continuous improvement.
- Participates in the monitoring and recommends continuous improvement solutions to environmental health and safety performance.
- Supports interaction with the public with regard to environmental
- Compiles statistics, prepare reports, assists in regulatory reporting, and maintains appropriate compliance records for environmental and safety.
- Assists in the development and implementation of projects or initiatives furthering continuous improvement in health and safety as assigned or appropriate.
- Assist with other plant-specific or company-specific issues as
- Supports the alternative fuels initiative through analysis and planning with regard to new processes and materials.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Understand/able to learn and properly interpret and apply MSHA (30CFR) and OSHA (29CFR) standards and regulations to assist in maintaining and continuously improving safety compliance.
