Position Summary
Circuit Check Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering teams. This position is responsible for driving innovation, managing multidisciplinary engineering functions, and overseeing all aspects of product design, development, and delivery. The Director will also lead Research & Development (R&D) efforts to explore new technologies, expand product capabilities, and ensure that Circuit Check remains at the forefront of the electronic test equipment industry.
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a strong technical background and proven ability to deliver complex engineering programs on time and within budget while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to Engineering Managers (Electrical, Mechanical, and Software) and their teams
- Build and maintain a high-performing, innovative engineering organization
- Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards.
- Research & Development
- Direct R&D initiatives to identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies that enhance product performance and competitiveness
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define and develop next-generation test equipment solutions
- Oversee prototype development, proof-of-concept validation, and transition to production.
- Engineering Operations
- Manage all phases of product development from concept through release, ensuring quality, compliance, and manufacturability
- Implement best practices in engineering processes, documentation, and design reviews
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations (ISO, IPC, UL, CE, etc.).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations and Manufacturing to ensure smooth transfer of designs to production
- Support Sales, Marketing, and Project Management in developing customer proposals and delivering solutions that meet technical requirements
- Work with Procurement to qualify suppliers and components that align with project and product needs.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
- Prioritize investments in tools, infrastructure, and training to support long-term innovation and efficiency
- Recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Background in electronic test equipment, automated test systems, or complex electromechanical systems preferred.

The salary range is $130,000 to $190,000 per year. The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
