SUMMARY
The Project Manager / Business Case Analyst develops comprehensive business cases for major projects, ensuring strategic alignment with client objectives and long-term office plans. This role combines technical expertise, financial modeling skills, and stakeholder collaboration to support informed decision-making and project approvals.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Case Development
- Collate data and inputs to create detailed Business Case submissions for projects exceeding $250,000.
- Highlight strategic benefits of proposed investments relative to long-term office plans.
- Manage multiple iterations of business cases to secure Project Approval and Expenditure Authority.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Liaise with Project Managers, Consultants, Property Managers, Heritage Conservation Managers, Capital Planning Managers, Energy Managers, and the Planning & Costing team to gather accurate information and ensure alignment.
Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Create financial models to evaluate project delivery options using proven techniques such as Net Present Value (NPV).
- Provide clear, data-driven insights to assist decision-makers in selecting optimal solutions.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as P.Eng and PMP strongly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in business analysis, project management, or corporate real estate.
- Bilingual (French/English) with excellent writing skills in both languages.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis and decision-making techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Macros, pivot tables, lookup tables) and MS Access.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and development.
- Ability to manage large datasets and maintain accuracy under high-volume conditions.
- Familiarity with project management processes in corporate real estate and construction; experience with project delivery is an asset.
- Computer proficiency in relational databases, reporting tools, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Very strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

- Timely and accurate completion of business cases for all projects > $250,000.
- Quality and clarity of financial models (NPV and other techniques).

LICENSES AND/OR PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
