The Opportunity: Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist or Health Psychologist – Insomnia Clinic 

 

Are you a clinical or health psychologist passionate about improving sleep health and supporting individuals experiencing insomnia? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Grade 3 Psychologist to join Northern Health’s new outpatient Insomnia Clinic, providing specialised psychological care to patients from diverse backgrounds. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver evidence-based interventions for sleep difficulties, including cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. You will be part of a supportive team committed to enhancing sleep outcomes and overall wellbeing. 

 

The role will involve: 

  • Conducting psychological assessments and delivering targeted interventions for individuals with insomnia and potentially other sleep-related concerns 
  • Supporting patients with co-occurring emotional, behavioural, and adjustment challenges 
  • Collaborating with sleep physicians and nursing staff 
  • Contributing to integrated care planning and sleep health promotion strategies 
  • Participating in service development, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives 

 

You would join a cohesive team of passionate, dedicated and progressive Psychologists working together to provide high quality psychological services. Working in the Northern Health Psychology Department offers exceptional opportunities for personal and professional development with support from an outstanding workforce. 

 

This is a Grade 3 (0.21 EFT, 16 hours per fortnight) permanent position.  

 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • An enthusiastic, adaptable and collaborative style 
  • Masters or Doctorate level training in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology 
  • Registration as a Psychologist and relevant Area of Practice Endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in public health
