Compensation: 

The salary range is $50.83/hourly to $79.43/hourly. The salary is based on multiple factors, including job-related years of experience, skills and employment status.

Position Summary:

The PET/CT Technologist performs a wide range of advanced imaging procedures using complex equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation. This role requires strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to patient care and customer service. Responsibilities include performing PET/CT and nuclear medicine procedures while maintaining departmental standards. The technologist ensures thorough and compassionate imaging care for all patients. This position involves performing all nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as PET/CT studies, in accordance with department protocols and physician orders.

  • Perform PET/CT imaging, including accurate interpretation of physician instructions, patient positioning, and operation of PET/CT equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents; establish and verify IV access; follow emergency procedures for extravasation or allergic reactions.
  • Conduct image processing, review scans for proper technique and quality, and ensure accurate transfer and verification of images in PACS.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance through proper documentation of radiopharmaceutical usage, hot lab procedures, and adherence to ALARA principles.
  • Perform routine quality control and equipment checks; identify and report issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain standard PET/CT protocols; assist with CT imaging as needed and rotate shifts based on departmental requirements.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and linens, ensuring adequate stock for daily operations.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient examinations to support efficient workflow.
  • Provide instruction and orientation to students and new staff, emphasizing clinical standards and radiation safety.

Qualifications:

  • Hold current registration with ARRT(N) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).
  •  Degree or program that provides eligibility to obtain certification or licensure
    • Instruction in basic and medical sciences related to nuclear medicine technology
  • Washington State Radiologic Technologist License
  • Obtain ARRT (CT) certification or CT certified NMTCB registered certification within 12 months of employment

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and patient care skills, including use of interpreters as needed
  • IV and Port-A-Catheter access proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Consistently follows established protocols and contributes to protocol development
