About the Job:
The Application Analyst role for Supply Chain Technology supports the software lifecycle of key software capabilities from strategic planning to tactical activities and operational support. This position will contribute to and assist the efforts to identify, define, analyze, prioritize, test, and refine the technology platform requirements, and work with cross functional technology and business teams to deliver the final product. This role works directly with internal stakeholders in the areas of Transportation, Vendor Management, E-Commerce, & Store Operations and our external vendors to ensure technological & operational support of the respective applications & business processes
Key Responsibilities
- Helps senior and lead analysts to ensure detailed functional & technical requirements are captured from appropriate teams and extracts requirements that may or may not be stated directly
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical and functional design specifications
- Participates in regular dialogue with business stakeholders to help understand and shape ongoing operational requirements, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose technical solutions to complex business requirements
- Participates in the quality assurance aspects of software lifecycles by contributing to creation & execution of test plans and detailed test cases, furthermore identifying defects and works toward resolution with developers and business teams
- Responds to production support issues; if not able to resolve independently, clearly communicates known status of issue to senior or lead analyst as a way of escalation
- Will be required to participate in week-long on-call rotation that requires 24/7 availability
- Seeks to identify and resolve root causes of problems; helps to document remediation within a centralized knowledge base
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree - Math, Science, Computer Science, or Business preferred or equivalent work experience with Store or Supply Chain applications
- Experience working on fast-paced projects in a team setting geared toward delivering results with highly sensitive timelines and business outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with and through others to resolve issues
- Exposure to Retail industry; Preferably experience with both ‘brick and mortar’ and e-commerce
- Highly quality conscious and result-oriented
- Customer-oriented, mission focused, and a quick learner
- Contributes to a positive team environment
- Solid analytic and problem-solving skills. Able to distinguish technology problems from people or process problems
Nice to Have
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience in analyzing, designing, configuring and implementing complex applications and integrating software packages; played a significant role in supporting medium to large projects
- Experience with JIRA and related product development software
- Experience with Service Now application and processes
- Experience with QTest/QA application and processes
- Understanding of APIs and modern technology architecture
- Familiarity with JS/JSON/CSS/XML
- Understanding of SQL query language
