Located minutes from downtown Minneapolis, MN, The Minikahda Club was founded in 1898, It is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi and a premier club in the region. The Club experience is focused on providing superior social and recreational experiences based on the values of family, fellowship, integrity, respect, and inclusiveness. Job Summary:

The Facilities Associate will work with the Engineering team to help with scheduled events, daily housekeeping duties and occasional maintenance of the club.

Essential Duties/Functions:

  • Maintains daily communication with the Campus Engineer, Housekeeping manager, and Clubhouse Manager for detailed instructions/overview of event floor plans.
  • Tears down and sets up meeting and event rooms, daily. This may include stripping the room of all its furniture and resetting the room per the specifications outlined by the BEO.
  • Properly cares for, moves, and stores equipment, such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor etc.
  • Properly sets up AV equipment such as projectors, projector screens, microphones, speakers, televisions, and poly-com communication systems.
  • Restocks and addresses custodial needs (trash, recycle, restrooms, amenities) of campus facilities daily (Golf Shop, Paddle House, Tennis House, and Tenth Tee.)  
  • Vacuums carpets and entryways. Sweeps patio areas and cleans patio furniture.
  • Able to repair or replace burned-out light bulbs, address minor electrical, HVAC and plumbing problems.
  • Able to communicate emergency issues to the proper channels/departments when they arise.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure buildings when facilities are not in use; check for unlocked doors and windows; turn off lights when space is not in use.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Positive attitude and teamwork oriented.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC tasks.  Example; resetting breakers, changing light bulbs, replacing outlets and switches, plunging toilets, shutting off water, checking filters and belts and making adjustments to HVAC units.
  • Excellent organizational skills and must be detail oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous janitorial, housekeeping and maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move chairs, tables, table tops, pianos and various furniture.
  • Ability to safety lift 75-100 lbs. on a regular continuous basis.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • May be working with cleaning chemicals and will need to operate equipment.
  • Bending, lifting, squatting on a daily basis.

Club Benefits:

  • Daily meal

Pay Rate:

  • $18-$20 per hour depending on experience.
  • 20 hours a week, weekends Friday- Sunday.
