We're looking for a Mobile Service Technician who will be dispatched to our customers' locations to assist with maintaining diesel equipment operation by inspecting and diagnosing vehicles, completing repairs and adjustments, and providing a positive experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform job duties at customer’s location or outside of the company facility.
- Repair and maintain customer vehicles by completing D.O.T. inspections, lube and oil changes, and other minor adjustments and minor repairs on tractors, trailers and trucks.
- Maintain Mobile Department vehicles and shop equipment, including following operating instructions, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs if needed.
- Maintain truck inventory.
- Record necessary information on vehicles being repaired by annotating services and repairs and completing appropriate inspections forms.
- Perform assigned duties in the main shop when mobile maintenance work is not available.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests and identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and appropriately adjusting controls and systems.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications.
- Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience with tooling, supply management, and inventory control.
- Technical knowledge with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Exhibits attention to detail and dependability when working independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Certifications for Detroit, Cummins, Freightliner or Total Truck Care preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $35.00/hr-$45.00/hr. Compensation will be determined based on experience, competencies, certifications, and education
