Job Summary
The Operations Analyst provides direct high-level administrative and project support in the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM). This position independently prioritizes issues in a fast-paced environment, manages complex schedules, and plans and implements programs and events. The person in this position performs and/or oversees special projects or assignments that are sensitive and/or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation. In addition, this position provides support to the other faculty in areas such as scheduling support, meeting support, etc.
This position requires the incumbent to have a high degree of organization, attention to detail, efficient use of time management, ability to prioritize work, discretion and initiative. Assignments are often given on a project basis and the incumbent is expected to manage the entire problem-solving process: gather and sort information, identify potential solutions, and present the finished product in the form of a written recommendation or completed project. The individual must have the ability to interact with many diverse personalities and demonstrate good judgment.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $78,900 - $167,300 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and 3+ years of related work experience; and / or equivalent experience / training
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills
- Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines
- Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service
- Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees
- Experience in scheduling, meeting coordination, administrative and office support, problem-solving and analytical support
- Strong and exceptional service orientation
