Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Operations Excellence Manager, the detail-oriented Quality Engineer plans, coordinates, implements and directs quality control programs within operational processes to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established quality standards in the manufacturing facility.
Essential Responsibilities:
-
Responsible for overall quality (from quote to accepted delivered systems) including controlled documents, processes and procedures, raw materials, and final product to determine quality levels and ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Maintains quality control check points and develop a constant improvement program to decrease re-work and errors.

Facilitates corrective action analyses and implementation of improvements utilizing field reports, internal correspondents and process audits.

Participates in customer visits regarding on-site quality resolution and/or quality reviews.

Responsible for supplier quality management.
-
Reviews test data and interpret tests and analyses to establish, or rule out, material and process causes and patterns.
-
Confers with Operations Production Manager, Production Leadership, Supply Chain Staff, Manufacturing Engineering & Design Engineering to resolve product Quality concerns.

Develops, evaluates, and audits manufacturing methods to maintain Quality Assurance standards.

Develops & implements training processes.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Effective Performance:
-
Bachelor’s degree and/or Certified Quality Engineer/Technician degree
-
3+ years of relevant experience
-
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
-
Fundamental understanding of ISO requirements/standards
Skills/Abilities/Specifications:
-
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

Command of "normal correspondence", including memos and letters.

Ability to communicate ideas and give direction to others.

Communicate clearly in one on one and in group settings

Ability to converse knowledgeably with customers and vendors about products and various components.

Safety toe shoes and safety glasses are required while in production areas.

Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the office and production areas; have use of hands and fingers to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
