Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Mechanical Equipment Repairer ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks which include correcting inspection discrepancies for organization and performing maintenance to complete trip tickets. I am skilled in performing minor repairs for safe operations. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work assignments involve standing and working on concrete and asphalt for long periods, climbing, reaching, sitting, laying, bending, and occasionally working in cramped, awkward positions. Continuously uses hand and arm dexterity. Pulls, pushes, and lifts items weighing up to 45 pounds. For heavier items, two or more workers lift or move. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside in warehouse shops that are occasionally hot, cold, damp or drafty. Works outside frequently in all types of weather. Subject to cuts and abrasions when using tools and is exposed to grease, oil, dirt, acids, paints, etc. Must observe existing safety rules related to wearing of protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes and wearing of helmets and earplugs when assisting crane operator.
