JOB SUMMARY:

The Admissions Supervisor is responsible for daily and continuous floor supervision of guest service employees, including head cashiers and cashiers. The primary focus of the Ticketing Supervisor will be to assure 100% customer service while serving as an assistant to the Admissions Manager in the implementation of training programs and provide reasonable support in all areas of Guest Relations.

POSITION AUTHORITY:

The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.

POSITION GUIDELINES:

Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in overseeing guest service to ensure quality service and 100% satisfaction
• Floor supervision of all cashiers including on the spot training as necessary and biweekly training
• Quality assurance programming
• Assist head cashiers in cash handling and cash out procedures
• Report feedback to Ticketing Manager about guest and employee issues, complaints, comments and concerns
• Daily reporting of needed repairs and computer programming
• Discuss and enforce Employee Handbook Policy with ticketing staff
• Assist head cashiers with daily routine procedures such as stocking tickets, receipt paper, maps, brochures and weekly attraction information; review all signage for accuracy
• Order and track ticketing and office supplies
• Responsible for notifying all ticketing locations regarding daily information
• Maintain and track all necessary cashier reports
• Immediately follow up on cashier discrepancy reports
• Assist with interviewing, hiring and training staff; making recommendations for promotions and demotions; assist in conducting employee evaluations
• Serve as backup or fill in at any guest service locations; must be proficient in all aspects of ticketing including groups, online orders, membership sales and admissions
• Attend meetings, supervising personnel in Managers absence, and bring suggestions for improvement
• Responsible for counter sign menus, updating cashiers and operators of daily promotions, and guest information handouts
• Assist with scheduling and tracking weekly hours as necessary
• Print out group paperwork for head cashiers
• Ensure ticketing locations are maintained during peak times and all stations are ready for use at any given time
• Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• College education preferred
• Prior cashiering experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must be reliable and responsible
• Ability to retain large quantities of information and handle multiple projects
• Ability to work well under pressure, take the initiative on problems, and be flexible
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom require a high level of patience, tolerance, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect information, and resolve conflict
• Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer relation skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to remain on feet standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform tasks that involve reaching and bending
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and carry for a distance of up to 50 feet
• Ability to push/pull 30-50 pounds for a distance of up to 50 feet
• Routine exposure to bright lights and loud noises
• Ability to tolerate weather extremes
