We are currently seeking a Dean Student Success who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
JOB SUMMARY
The Dean of Student Success coordinates all facets of the College’s Enrollment and Support Services Departments.
Develops enrollment management strategies to increase college enrollment as well as manage and support the student enrollment process from access to completion.
Provides oversight for enrollment management areas including Admissions, Registration, Outreach, Recruitment and Testing, and support areas including: Academic Advising, Counseling, Career and Transfer Services, Internship and Job Placement, Student Life, Recreational Sports and Student Conduct.
Collaborates with District Student Services to ensure that college-wide strategic plans and goals are met.

Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets, are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with College teams to streamline processes as well as eliminate barriers that students face from access to completion.
Work collaboratively with the Financial Aid Department to ensure that student financial aid remains a focus for eligible students.
Build partnerships with Academic Affairs, the Centers of Excellence, Workforce Development, and community-based organizations to develop, organize, and implement strategies to promote student enrollment, retention, and success.
Collaborate with the Centers of Excellence to engage students in workforce development programs associated with that Center of Excellence.
Develop in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research assessment tools that track the student’s progress and engagement from enrollment to completion.
Assist in coordinating campus-based Student Activities, Recreational Sports, and Minority Male Mentoring efforts in collaboration with the district staff to promote student success.
Promote the ultimate student experience by establishing strategies and benchmarks to increase persistence, retention, and academic success, including but not limited to developing quantitative and qualitative metrics to assess student success strategies.
Develop college-wide comprehensive student services and community development programs, which address the needs of each college that are consistent with the system-wide programs and address the needs of the College.
Assist with development of grant proposals in student services and community development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field required; PhD degree preferred
- 6 years combined experience in enrollment management and supervision of student services/student affairs required
- Previous higher education experience preferred
Licensing & Certification

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
