DSG is seeking an Operations Manager in our Fargo, ND location. In this full-time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. As an Operations Manager, you will be a leader in all areas of the branch processes and procedures relating to the operations that impact service and responsiveness to our customers, suppliers, and employee owners.

A Typical Day in the Life of an Operations Manager at DSG:
- Maintain and update customer pricing profiles/contracts upon approval
- Manage the supplier rebate process
- Manage the vendor return process
- Submit inventory credits and freight claim credits
- Review and maintain customer open orders to ensure needs are met
- Follow up with sales staff on open order and backorder reports
- Notify management regarding cost savings and profit improvement
- Identify and recommend process improvement initiatives
- Monitor and manage inventory performance: monitor the ABC analysis report and work with leadership to ensure inventory is controlled and meeting goals
- Oversee all branch responsibilities in absence of other branch management
- Manage customer, vendor, and other visitors experience to our branch including greeting customers/visitors, direct them to the appropriate person/area or responds to their inquiries
- Oversee planning and coordination of customer and employee events
- Assist in coordinating general maintenance and repair projects, office furniture, filing system, and manages some branch communications as needed
- Manage office access including opens and closes building and ensure security, cleanliness, and overall professional environment
- Supervise office staff for productivity and performance
- Take responsibility for the overall success of our phone system through answering and directing calls in a courteous and professional manner, while working to improve on-hold time, incoming ring time, and overall customer calling experience
- Assist on other administrative duties such as managing special projects
- Identify work procedures in a priority manner, prioritize workflow and communicate priorities effectively with associates
- Advise leadership as necessary regarding customer related and/or branch procedural issues that may need to be addressed
- All other duties as assigned
A Successful Operations Manager Typically Has:
- A high school diploma; college degree in related field preferred.
- Experience working within the company and with our programs, processes, and procedures.
- 5 years of experience in distribution, the industry and/or a related field.
- A high level of analytical ability to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources and find solutions to human relations, technical, strategic, or administrative problems; must be able to analyze problems, propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow-up with feedback where and when appropriate.
- Interpersonal communication skills necessary to lead others and deal effectively with a diverse group of external customers and vendors, as well as internal contacts at all levels of the company.
- The ability to plan, analyze, prioritize, and organize work effectively and to perform under pressure and time deadlines.
- Strong general computer skills.
