JOB TITLE:
Education Assistant
JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the UW Art Museum Education team with education and technology related tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with education team to develop and implement lessons and assessments for various programs that align with our inquiry model (observe, question, explore, create and reflect).
- Assist with technology and hybrid learning scenarios (may include editing video, captions, setting up equipment, recording).
- Studio maintenance including clean up, inventory, materials prep.
- Additional tasks and support for museum classes, tours and camps will be assigned based on availability, need, and funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED; Art or Education majors preferred. All majors welcome to apply.
Experience: One to two years of teaching experience in an informal setting.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and/or written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
