Telecon is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our growing Civil Team! This is a field position/on the road.
Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Equipment Operator will operate medium and heavy digging equipment such as Mini Excavators, Backhoes, and Skid-Steers.
The work will primarily be in and around the Edmonton Region. There could be a requirement to travel 15-20% of the time (within 3 hours or so of Edmonton) as needed.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Ability to safely and efficiently Operate Mini Excavators, Backhoes, and Skid-Steers as required
- Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports
- Load and unload heavy equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
- Transport cargo and/or equipment in a safe and professional manner
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavating equipment around existing buried utilities
- Must have at least a valid Class 5 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
- Experience with towing trailers is an asset
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
- Must be able to speak, read & write English
- Must have good oral communication skills and be able to work with others
