Responsibilities:

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Procurement Manager – Packaging to lead the end-to-end strategy, sourcing, and supplier management for packaging categories across the organization. This role will be responsible for driving category performance with a focus on cost competitiveness, supply continuity, sustainability, and innovation. As a strategic business partner, the Procurement Manager will continuously evolve category strategies to deliver value beyond savings—leading initiatives that enhance product differentiation, elevate consumer experience, and strengthen long-term resilience.

Your Impact

As Procurement Operational Excellence Manager, your scope will include:

  • Category Leadership
Develop and own packaging category strategies—including paperboard, flexible films, cartons, inks, adhesives, and more—aligned with business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Strategic Sourcing
Lead negotiations, contracting, and risk mitigation to secure best-in-class commercial agreements and build long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Proactive Value Creation
Anticipate business needs and proactively identify opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and cost optimization—shaping demand rather than simply responding to it.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
Cultivate strong relationships with global, regional, and local suppliers to drive joint business planning, innovation pipelines, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing, R&D, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Legal to influence packaging decisions and ensure procurement delivers measurable business impact.
  • Productivity & Innovation
Deliver year-over-year productivity improvements through sustainable material adoption, packaging redesigns, and the integration of emerging technologies.
  • Sustainability Leadership
Champion the transition to recyclable, compostable, and bio-based packaging. Drive supplier initiatives to increase recycled content and reduce carbon footprint, ensuring alignment with ESG goals and regulatory standards.
  • Risk & Compliance
Ensure category strategies comply with trade regulations, customs classifications (e.g., LIGIE), and sustainability frameworks. Proactively manage business continuity risks (BCP).
  • Team & Stakeholder Leadership
Provide guidance to analysts and buyers, mentor team members, and influence senior stakeholders through clear, strategic communication.

Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing capabilities at both regional and global levels.
  • Demonstrated sustainability mindset, with hands-on experience in initiatives involving recycled resins, circular economy models, and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Solid financial acumen, including cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and long-term value creation.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, innovative leader who takes ownership, drives results, and inspires cross-functional teams.
