Career Opportunities: Principal, Business Development (47961)

In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving growth by identifying new alliance partnership opportunities and strengthening existing relationships within WFI’s target segments.
Your expertise in the industry, broad market knowledge, and strong negotiation skills will enable you to assess potential partnerships with new referrers and optimise current alliances. Leveraging your network and strategic insight, you’ll ensure these partnerships align with IAG’s purpose and deliver value for both parties.
This is a permanent full-time role and can be based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Naarm (Melbourne).
This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel within the local state to engage with partners and stakeholders.
What You'll Do
• Develop and implement strategies to identify new partnership opportunities and optimise existing relationships aligned with WFI’s growth targets.
• Drive business growth through new and existing partner arrangements and advocacy initiatives.
• Set and achieve performance goals for partners, focusing on growth and retention of existing customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence the partnership pipeline and ensure collaboration.
• Ensure alignment with WFI’s Customer Value Proposition (CVP) when engaging potential and existing alliance partners.
• Monitor and manage operational performance, including referral processes, onboarding, contractual obligations, compliance, and brand standards.
• Provide governance and insights, including risk management, adherence to policies, performance analytics, and administration of contractual documentation.
What You'll Bring
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in insurance and/or financial services.
• Proven ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships that deliver mutual value.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a focus on driving growth and profitability.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes accurately.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and influence across all levels, from executives to frontline teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, such as a degree in Commerce, Marketing, or a related field.
