Job Summary:
Reporting to the Registrar, the Academic Evaluator supports student success through the accurate evaluation of academic transcripts and transfer credit for prospective, admitted, and continuing students. This position ensures that credit for prior learning achievements is appropriately recognized and that students receive timely, accurate information to support their degree progress. By maintaining high standards of evaluation and collaboration across university departments, the role advances Regis University’s mission of educating the whole person in the Jesuit tradition and contributes to institutional goals of academic excellence and student success.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Transfer Credit Evaluation and Admissions Support
This position is dedicated to those evaluation functions that directly support the
admissions and advising offices, such as unofficial evaluations and official evaluation of transfer credit for re-admitted students. Review and evaluate academic transfer credit and other credit for prior learning information for the purpose of formal transcript evaluation for all students entering the University during peak admissions and advising periods. Contact students regarding the status of their academic program related to transfer and the transcript evaluation process.
Continuing Student Degree Plan Updates
Perform all functions related to updating and maintaining individual continuing student degree plans with credit for prior learning experiences; contact students regarding the updated information.
Academic Records Processing
Process and perform all tasks related to the permanent student Academic record/file and all academic degree plans and intents.
Professional Development and External Relations
Establish and maintain regional and national higher education contacts and resources in order to stay abreast of changes related to the complex body of knowledge and services addressing the transfer process. Participate in training and development activities designed to enhance job performance and professional development.
Transcript Processing
Customer Service
Assist with frontline student, faculty, family and staff phone calls and in-office visitors.
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend(s). This position has the opportunity for remote work, while also requiring a significant on-campus presence.
Qualifications:
Bachelors/Equivalent experience required. Bachelors/3-4 years equivalent experience preferred.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills (reports, evaluation, policy interpretation, research)
Ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software, knowledge of Informer, Colleague or similar systems preferred.
Able to use Word, Excel, Microsoft Suite in a professional context.
