Description

Pending Contract Award

An MH-139 Pilot Instructor trains and evaluates aircrew on the MH-139 helicopter for U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). Essential responsibilities include providing academic and flight instruction, maintaining operational readiness, and ensuring aircrew proficiency for critical missions such as missile field security and personnel transport.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide comprehensive classroom and simulator instruction on the MH-139A's specific systems, flight characteristics, mission equipment (such as navigation and defensive systems), and emergency procedures.

  • Instruct and evaluate students on all flight maneuvers in the actual MH-139 aircraft, including normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures. Ensure students achieve and maintain the required proficiency for their roles.
  • Conduct proficiency checks and flight evaluations for students and experienced pilots to ensure they meet USAF and AFGSC standards. Document all training and evaluation events.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of training syllabi, courseware, and lesson plans. Stay current with all relevant aviation regulations, technology, and aircraft updates.
  • Enforce all safety procedures during ground and flight operations. Maintain strict adherence to USAF flight regulations and aircraft technical orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, provide constructive feedback, and determine when a student is prepared for practical exams and operational missions.
  • Instructors may be required to perform functional check flights (FCFs) to test the airworthiness of an aircraft after maintenance or modification. 
  • Other duties as identified and assigned.

Qualifications


 Required Education and Experience

      • MH-139 Aircrew Qualification or UH-1N Aircrew Qualification.
      • Military Helicopter aircrew experience
      • Minimum of 300 hours of Combat Mission Ready aircrew experience and current within the last 24 months.
      • Prior Aircrew Instructor experience

 

 

 

Security Responsibilities

  • Eligible and obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. 
  • May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. 

 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.  

Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

 

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills 

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

  • Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required. 
  • Shop floor environment.  
  • Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.  
  • May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
