Garfield County Hospital District (GCHD) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Supervisor to join our outstanding team of medical professionals.
GCHD is a rural critical access hospital that offers 25 swing beds, an emergency department, radiology and lab services, and a local medical clinic to our community and beyond. Our staff is dedicated and compassionate about caring for our patients and residents.
This position would be Monday through Friday, overseeing the emergency department, acute care and swing bed units. A successful candidate would strive to continue the person-centered leadership valued at GCHD, focusing on communication, accountability, reliability and encouragement. These are the foundational principles we work to follow every day.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manage daily nursing operations such as scheduling, hiring, training, and evaluating staff
- Act as a liaison between staff, patients and administration
- Set performance goals and deadlines and organize workflows by assigning tasks that align with employee skills
- Provide regular constructive feedback and coaching to help employees stay on track
- Ensure quality patient care by developing processes and providing guidance to staff
- Monitor daily activity to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with rules and regulations, maintaining records, and contributing to strategic organizational goals
- Address problems and conflicts that arise in the workplace in a timely manner
Qualifications – strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, a solid understanding of healthcare laws, regulations and best practices, a Washington State Registered Nurse license, and minimum of 2 years of experience at a critical access hospital.
