Position Overview
Microtech Knives is seeking a highly skilled Assembler III to join our team. This role is designed for experienced professionals with 3 to 7 years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or precision production. As an Assembler III, you will play a key role in advanced assembly operations, troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring product quality, and assisting in process improvements. You will also act as a mentor for junior assemblers and serve as a leader within the assembly department.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Assembly & Production
- Perform complex knife assembly tasks with a high level of precision and efficiency.
- Work independently to complete assignments, ensuring adherence to quality and production goals.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify component specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot more complex assembly issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce defects.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Conduct detailed inspections of assembled products to ensure compliance with Microtech Knives' quality standards.
- Work closely with quality control teams to resolve defects and improve final product consistency.
- Ensure all assembled products meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of any assembly issues and corrective actions taken.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and train Assembler I and Assembler II employees, helping them improve their skills and efficiency.
- Provide guidance on best practices, assembly techniques, and troubleshooting methods.
- Support lead assemblers in managing workflow and production schedules.
Safety & Workplace Organization
- Follow and enforce company safety policies, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Maintain an organized workstation and adhere to lean manufacturing principles.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or process inefficiencies to the Assembly Supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3 to 7 years in precision assembly, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex assembly challenges.
- Quality Control: Deep understanding of quality assurance and ability to perform detailed inspections.
- Leadership: Experience mentoring and training junior assemblers.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision required in all assembly tasks.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, self-motivated, and dedicated to meeting production and quality goals.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks using fine motor skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
