Position Summary: Plans, installs, and maintains a variety of complex electrical, mechanical and manufacturing equipment. Performs maintenance involving diagnosis, disassembling, repairing, reassembling of various equipment. Maintains manufacturing machinery through lubrication and minor repairs in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and company manufacturing standards. Inspects machinery and mechanical equipment for defects on a daily basis, and informs supervisor of any suspected repair needs for evaluation. Dismantles equipment guards and covers to gain access to lubrication systems. Repairs leather or rubber drive belts and replaces them on machines. Cleans, lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other parts of machinery using rags, brushes, and grease guns. Changes oil and filters on all machine shop equipment as needed. Maintains records tracking dates, type, and extent of repair or maintenance tasks in a maintenance management system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Repair, build and maintain manufacturing equipment and plant facilities
Work with vendors and part suppliers on needed equipment and parts including estimates and quotes
Move machinery within plant, pre-plan layout, utility and safety requirements and rigging
Prioritize repairs and maintenance to support production
Train operators in preventative maintenance
Assure cleanliness of working areas
Rotating on-call maintenance schedule
Trouble shoot machinery or equipment issues
Change light fixtures when necessary.
Install air condition units.
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricated machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
3-4 years of relevant experience
High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training
Technical Skills:
Excellent attention to detail
Knowledge in a variety of mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
Knowledge of location and proper use of maintenance/facilities, tooling, supplies and equipment
Able to read and interpret schematics and blue prints
Comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools
Fork lift certification
Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
Problem solving abilities
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
Understand and obey safety requirements
Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more
Frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl
Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
