The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Orlando

  • Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for supervising and validating coder productivity and accuracy. This position performs abstract coding and handles coding-related tasks and denials. Additionally, this role conducts charge reviews of identified risk areas. In addition, this position ensures compliance with coding standards and guidelines. Responsibilities for this role include overseeing coders, managing coding tasks, and reviewing charges. This role contributes to the overall accuracy and efficiency of the coding process.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Supervises on-site and remote coding staff, including monitoring schedules and providing coverage for time off.

  • Manages time sheets, corrections, and tracks actual time against estimates.

  • Conducts team meetings, one-on-one coder meetings, and provides coaching and training to facilitate positive outcomes.

  • Reports production scores to coders and performs semi-annual TalentCare reviews and development conversations.

  • Performs coding and abstracting functions, and coordinates coder and provider training and education.


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

  • Technical/Vocational School [Required]

  • 1+ applicable experience [Required]

  • 2+ supervisory experience and/or identified leadership developmental skills. [Required]

  • Health Information Administrator (RHIA) [Required]

  • OR Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) [Required]

  • OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC) [Required]

  • OR Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P) [Required]
