Physician (MD/DO) - Urgent Care

About the Role
As a Physician, you’ll provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, minor infections, and injuries. Working independently, you’ll use your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while collaborating with advanced practice providers and escalating care when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine and treat patients across all age groups
- Take comprehensive medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Diagnose conditions and prescribe medications
- Treat minor injuries including suturing, splinting, and casting
- Record progress notes and manage follow-up care
- Educate and counsel patients on health and wellness
- Administer vaccinations and refer patients for specialized care
- Supervise GoHealth PA/NPs remotely and act as a Collaborating Physician during credentialing
- Work scheduled shifts of 8 or 12 hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
Experience:
- 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience
- Minimum 18 months in applicable practice setting
- Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Licensure/Certifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine (ABMS or AOA)
- Active state medical license
Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine
- Proficiency in office procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (preferred)
- Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Multilingual communication skills
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
- Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
