NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR
Primary Job Purpose: Manages the day to day operations of the skilled health care facility to ensure the maximum levels of resident, family and staff safety, wellness, well being and satisfaction. This is accomplished by the provision of sound fiscal management, effective communication and leadership, comprehensive policies and procedures, quality assurance and innovative programs design.
Customer Service: Adherence to the MOSES program to include Mission, Ownership, Success, Excellence, and Service.
Essential Job Functions:
- Practice the Values, the Mission, and Philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.
- Ensure compliance to Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center’s mission and values, as well as all written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the care center, including state, local and federal regulations.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality care to all residents, including personal care, activities, nutrition services, medications, clinical management, attention to psychosocial needs, and general management of the care center.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a community-wide approach to risk management to reduce community’s liability exposure to include; review of all accident and incident reports, investigation of high-risk issues, ensuring the provision of safety and risk reduction education for all team members, and identification and investigation of risk exposures.
- Responsible for oversight of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement program for key operations and finance areas. This includes; conducting written, observational and oral assessments of key areas, provides follow-up and accountability when outcomes do not meet current standards, and identifies trends requiring focus for improvement.
- Monitors community grievance activity and participates in customer-based satisfaction and service recovery.
- Coordinates policy writing, review, and revision for skilled nursing building.
- Oversees the HIPAA compliance officer and assures compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintains a stable, qualified and a caring team through an effective performance management program that includes; recruitment, interviewing and employee selection, orientation and training, establishing clear job performance expectations, validating skills competency, performance reviews, providing coaching and counseling, and employee retention in the care center.
- Assure compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Plans and implements a comprehensive effective flexible admission process that includes; making timely decisions on admission and obtaining necessary documentation and information to meet the needs of potential residents, their family members, referral sources and community staff.
- Is a member of the Directors’ Team. Works in cooperation with other directors to fulfill the duties delegated to this team.
- Manages conflict, complaints and concerns with residents, family members, team members, and others in a clear, thoughtful, direct and respectful manner that reflects the professional integrity of Eben Ezer.
- Prepares and submits necessary paperwork and reports to the Board of Directors, State and Federal agencies, supervisor and others in a timely and complete manner.
- Provides sound fiscal management, including management of monthly expenses to revenue to maintain the financial integrity of the care center.
- Responsible for continuing the journey of culture change utilizing The Eden Alternative and other resources.
- In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Eben Ezer needs or requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

Qualifications, Education, and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three to five years
experience in long term care setting. Current Colorado nursing home administrator’s license. Five years
management experience.
Non-Essential Job Functions: Membership on Eben Ezer committees. Completes daily rounds of the care
center as assigned.

Material and Equipment used, but not limited to: General office equipment such as phone, fax, computer,
copier.
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Sits at a desk in an office environment. Must be able to sit for long
periods of time. Will do reaching, bending, and some stretching. Occasionally lifts 0-50 pounds. Must deal
with sensitive staff issues and multiple interruptions. Performs keyboarding tasks for a constant portion of the
workday.
Working Hours: General office hours, Monday through Friday. Will act as on call Administrator as assigned.
