SUMMARY: Under the direction of the building administrator, provides instruction in vocational
Health Careers, provides supervision, management, direction for students to meet the competences
set forth by the Health Careers curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
? Responsible to conduct a Health Careers classroom and meet curriculum requirements.
? Monitors student conduct during class as well as clinical sites when placed.
? Maintains the general neatness and attractiveness of the classroom, office and displays.
? Maintains own regular and prompt attendance.
? Maintains appropriate appearance.
? Promotes good public relations for the school district and community.
? Remains free of any alcohol or non-prescription controlled substance abuse in the
workplace throughout his/her employment in the school corporation.
? Completes effectively other job duties as assigned.
? Assists students learning skills required for success in the real world.
? Serves on the WCC Health Careers Advisory Board.
? Promotes student leadership through Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
? Maintains accurate records and submits all required paperwork to office in a timely
manner.
? Establishes contact and maintains communication with parents.
? Prepares and distributes accurate student information.
? Possess, or willingness to obtain, certifications instructor training in CPR / first aid,
dementia care, CNA, or others that may arise.
? Any other duties assigned by the administration.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise students both at school and clinical sites.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be
able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative
of the knowledge, skills, and /or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree in Nursing is required. Bachelors Degree, R.N. license, and teaching
experience are preferred.

TRAVEL
The instructor will be required to furnish transportation to and from clinical sites. Mileage
reimbursement shall be that approved by Fayette County School Corporation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and technology journals.
Ability to write and/or complete routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to
understand, pronounce, and teach medical terminology and science content to students.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply basic math skills such as adding, subtraction, multiplication, and division required
in the Health Careers curriculum.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate personal computer and related software. Ability to communicate clearly and
concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with
students, staff, and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district
requirements and school board policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand, and walk. The
employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach forward and above the head. The
employee will frequently push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds such
as boxes of books, auto parts, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the
job include close vision and ability to tell differences among colors. The employee regularly
interacts with students and staff, in addition to meeting multiple demands from several people.
