Role Overview

At RLB, we’re proud to be shaping the future of the built environment — and we know that starts with investing in the next generation of talent. Our Summer Placements are a great opportunity to explore what it’s like to work at RLB, gain hands-on experience, and start building your career in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities

As a Project Management Summer Intern, you’ll join our teams in partnering with clients to deliver successful construction and property projects. You’ll gain valuable experience collaborating directly with clients, supporting the planning, management, and monitoring of project progress to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Your day-to-day could include:
  • Supporting the project team in tracking progress across key stages — helping to monitor budgets, timelines, and deliverables to make sure projects stay on track.
  • Assisting with preparing project documents such as progress reports, meeting minutes, risk registers, and cost summaries.
  • Learning how construction programmes are developed and how project managers coordinate between clients, designers, and contractors.
  • Attending design or site meetings to observe how decisions are made and how progress is reviewed in real time.
  • Helping gather and check project data, such as schedules, procurement plans, or quality information, to support senior team members in managing performance.
  • Getting involved in research or benchmarking activities to support continuous improvement across our projects.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn. You’ll be studying a degree in Construction Project Management, or a related discipline, and have a genuine interest in how fire safety shapes the built environment.

Behaviours
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to get involved.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for learning and making a difference.
