Job Summary:

The Director of Senior Human Resources serves as a key people leader responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support the company’s growth and culture. This role partners closely with senior leadership to strengthen organizational capabilities, build talent pipelines, and ensure a positive and compliant employee experience. The Director of HR oversees core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR operations across North America.

Scope of Responsibility:

The Senior Director of HR leads the HR function and partners with business leaders across the organization to ensure consistent HR practices, strong people leadership, and effective communication. This role manages a small HR team and works hands-on to support leaders and employees, address workforce needs, and execute strategic HR initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & Operational HR Leadership
    • Develop and execute HR plans aligned to business goals and organizational growth
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on people strategy, workforce planning, and organizational structure
    • Translate business priorities into practical HR programs, policies, and initiatives
  • Talent Acquisition & Talent Management
    • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain high-quality talent
    • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
    • Manage performance review cycles, goal setting, and employee development processes
    • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
    • Build strong working relationships across the organization
    • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance coaching, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
    • Promote employee engagement strategies that foster a positive and inclusive culture
  • Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
    • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitive and equitable pay practices
    • Partner with Finance on workforce planning and HR budgeting
    • Support annual merit, variable pay, and benefits renewal cycles
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws
    • Maintain HR policies, handbook, and documentation
    • Oversee employee investigations and maintain confidentiality and fairness
  • HR Operations & Technology
    • Manage HR systems, employee data, reporting, and analytics
    • Continually identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance service delivery
    • Ensure HR practices scale effectively with organizational growth
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead and develop HR team members
    • Foster an HR culture of service delivery, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Change Enablement
    • Support organizational change initiatives, including process updates, restructuring, and cultural initiatives
    • Communicate effectively with employees regarding change impacts and timelines
  • Other Duties
    • Assist with annual budgeting for HR initiatives
    • Participate in company committees and projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or Business is preferred. Professional certifications such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent are highly desirable, and coaching certification is preferred.
  2. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience. 
  3. Language: Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and verbal, is required.
  4. Skills and Competencies: The successful candidate will possess strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect HR strategy to organizational performance. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as high emotional intelligence and cultural awareness. Expertise in global employment law, HR technology, and people analytics is essential, along with the ability to drive innovation and change across a global organization.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

This job is performed in a normal office environment.  Ability to travel occasionally is required.
