About The Role

The Mortgage Loan Sales Representative is a key internal advocate of our Shared Values of STEWARDSHIP.  Under the direction of the AVP, Mortgage Operations, this position supports the Mortgage Department by assisting with mortgage loan referral applications, gathering of documents from borrowers to complete loan files, and responding to inquiries pertaining to the status of loans.

This is a key member of the Mortgage team and requires onsite work at VCCU’s Ventura headquarters.  On occasion, may travel to branch offices located throughout Ventura County.

What You’ll Do

• Inform existing members of VCCU programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures. 
• Originate high quality loans which meet VCCU guidelines. Obtains purchase, refinance, and HELOC mortgage loans in accordance with established policies and procedures and appropriate guidelines.
• Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions. 
• Analyze detailed financial and credit data.
• Receive customer applications, quote rates and points, and complete follow-up activities.
• Follow-up on a consistent basis with internal staff, borrowers, escrow/title companies and agents to complete processing.
• Prepare and deliver initial mortgage disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Responds to inquiries from agents/referral partners and borrowers regarding status of loans in process.

What We’re Seeking

• 3 years’ experience in mortgage lending is required. Must have broad knowledge of principles and practices and laws governing financial services.
• Requires working knowledge of current mortgage lending compliance procedures and underwriting requirements. 
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
