Position Duties

Possession of a valid unrestricted Louisiana Medical License.
Possession of a valid Louisiana Controlled Dangerous substance (CDS) license with the LA Board of Pharmacy.
Possession of a valid Controlled Substance Registration Certificate with the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties:

• Perform required physical examination and assessments on all patients upon admit to facility and annually. Provide on-going documentation in Residents charts and make referrals through documentation as required by policy/procedure.

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat and follow-up medical problems on patients. Perform procedures necessary to treat residents on all specialty Units. Prescribe medications and work with Nursing and Pharmacy to adjust medications as deemed necessary. 
• Refer to medical specialists as appropriate for care. Coordinate with and follow up on care of Residents requiring treatment in other acute hospitals and facilities.
• Order laboratory tests, radiological studies, dental work, special diets and medications as indicated by patient’s condition.
• Closely collaborate and discuss patient’s condition with psychiatrists, Nursing staff and other members of the treatment team to help in the management of the most appropriate patient care.

Compensation: Salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
