Position Summary:
The RDA-EF2, reporting to the Dental Clinic Supervisor, is essential in maintaining our four handed dentistry procedures. The RDA-EF2 is a mid-level provider in the clinic and maintains their own patients schedule under the supervision of the dentist. In addition, the assistant will enable the dentist to make more efficient use of his/her time by carrying out specific tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts all duties that a Registered Dental Assistant is allowed to perform.
- Conducts preliminary evaluation of the patient's oral health, including, but not limited to, charting, intraoral and extra-oral evaluation of soft tissue, classifying occlusion, and myofunctional evaluation.
- Performs oral health assessments in school-based, community health project settings under the direction of a dentist, registered dental hygienist, or registered dental hygienist in alternative practice.
- Completes cord retraction of gingival for impression procedures.
- Sizes and fits endodontic master points and accessory points.
- Cements endodontic master points and accessory points.
- Completes final impressions for permanent indirect restorations.
- Completes final impressions for tooth-borne removable prosthesis.
- Polishes and adjusts contour existing amalgam restorations.
- Completes chart visits comprehensively and completes E&M coding in compliance with dental coding standards.
- Places, contours, finishes, and adjusts all direct restorations (composite and amalgam).
- Adjusts and cements permanent indirect restorations.
- Performs other procedures authorized by regulations adopted by the board.
- Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including; HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess current RDAEF2 licensure from an accredited school.
- 1 year of experience as an RDAEF2 in a clinic setting.
- Must possess dental x-ray and coronal polish license.
- 8 hr. Infection Control Certification.
- Must have current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a community dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Experience with Nextgen or other electronic dental record system preferred.
- Associates degree in the Health & Human Services.
- Knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of the diverse AI/AN community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations.
- Bilingual
