Summary: Responsible for the supervision of youth workers in a transitional living program that includes group living and apartment living.
This is an hourly non-exempt position.
Directly supervises Youth Workers and Transitional Living Specialists:
- Ensures staff are trained in the policies and procedures of Every Child's Hope as it relates to their positions.
- Monitors the implementation of policies and procedures by the staff and assists them in implementing them effectively.
- Monitors and approves staff timesheets via the payroll system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Manages staff schedules to ensure proper coverage of residents.
- Evaluates staff through annual performance evaluations.
- Assists in the hiring process of staff.
- Maintains training expectations of staff.
- Observes the interactions between staff and youth and coaches staff on their technique to increase effective and strength-based interactions.
Attends to day-to-day operations group home:
- Facilitate in-house meetings.
- Maintains the supplies needed in the house.
- Contacts maintenance for repairs to house.
- Ensures house is orderly, structured, clean and a nurturing environment for the residents.
- Ensures monthly Emergency Readiness and Safety Evaluations are completed and submitted to the QA Department.
Ensures the implementation of treatment plans for residents and ensures all documentation is accurately completed:
- Monitors the implementation of the youth's service plans and assists staff in implementing plans effectively and consistently.
- Prepares for and attends team meetings and service plan reviews.
- Trains and assists staff in how to document and conduct service plan reviews.
- Works with nursing department regarding all resident medication management needs.
- Works with case managers regarding meeting the needs of the residents.
Ensures the daily structure and routine is consistently conducted including all youth activities:
- Provides active supervision of residents in youth worker's absence.
- Acts as role model to staff by encouraging healthy relationships with residents.
- Facilitates house meetings with youth when needed.
- Ensures rules, routines, and structure of the group home is being adhered to.
- Manages house funds.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 6 to 7 employees in the Steppingstone program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
