Reports To: Food Pantry Manager
Position Type: Regular, part-time
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary: $21 / Hour

Position Description
The Food Pantry Coordinators (2), work in close collaboration with the Food Pantry Manager to ensure operational excellence at the Fritz Food Pantry at Goodman Community Center. This includes directing and working alongside the 70 plus pantry volunteers. The pantry is open for customers to shop, three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Staff and volunteers work additional hours on Monday and Friday in support of pantry operations.
The roles of the Pantry Coordinators include three main areas of effort:
- Coordinating volunteers and managing customers during the open hours of the pantry. This part of the role requires strong customer service skills as well as experience with programmatic organization and planning
- Sorting, stocking, and physical labor to shelve and store donations and purchased food that is distributed in the pantry. We receive 10,000 plus pounds of food every week which must be sorted and stored
- Supporting the “Retail Rescue” program where 4 to 5 days/ week Goodman’s Food Pantry picks up donated food from various retail locations. This important work provides nearly 5,000 pounds each week to our Food Pantry, and requires a fair amount of physical labor
In total the pantry coordinators work collaboratively and independently to cover these tasks. Goodman is currently hiring for one of these positions, at 20 hours per week. This role will hold responsibility for completing the tasks above in coordination with the other pantry coordinator. The Food Pantry Manager is responsible for working with the coordinators to assign roles and tasks based on interest, ability, and needs of both coordinators and the Pantry.
This particular role will be responsible for management of our Wednesday evening pantry. Applicants should be available from 3-8:30 pm on Wednesday evenings. Other hours have some flexibility but are generally within the timeframe of Monday-Friday 8 am-4:00 pm.
