The Hillsboro R-3 School District is seeking an energetic, passionate, and dynamic leader to serve as Principal of Hillsboro High School. This individual will lead a talented team of educators and staff dedicated to preparing students for success—academically, socially, and emotionally—within a community deeply committed to excellence and growth.

Position Summary
The High School Principal provides visionary and instructional leadership to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge, skills, and character necessary for success. This role directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities—personally or through staff supervision—to achieve alignment with state standards and district goals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead a culture of high expectations, respect, and belonging for students and staff.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs to ensure alignment with state and district standards.
- Plan and oversee the master schedule, curriculum design, and assessment systems to meet diverse learner needs.
- Foster professional growth through coaching, collaboration, and feedback for continuous staff development.
- Promote student safety and well-being, modeling proactive leadership in crisis management and discipline.
- Analyze academic data to guide decision-making and program improvement.
- Manage the school’s budget, staffing, and resources responsibly and strategically.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and the community to promote shared vision and trust.
- Encourage innovation and co-curricular excellence that supports the district’s mission to educate and inspire every student.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Educational Administration (Doctorate preferred).
- Valid Missouri Certification in Secondary Administration.
- Minimum of three years of successful leadership or administrative experience (high school preferred).
- Proven record of instructional leadership, data-driven decision-making, and community engagement.
Physical and Environmental Expectations
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate effectively.
- Must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels and outdoor weather during duties such as lunch or bus supervision.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated according to the Certified Administrator Evaluation model of the Hillsboro R-3 School District.
