The Executive Producer plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, workflow efficiency, and team alignment across MOCEAN’s accounts, creative, production, and social teams. This leader ensures that teams are resourced effectively, trained consistently, and empowered to deliver exceptional creative work—on time, on brand, and on budget.
This position is ideal for a hands-on production leader who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and brings both organizational rigor and collaborative energy to the table.
Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and grow Mocean’s production and post-production teams.
- Oversee all phases of content and campaign production, from budgeting and scheduling to execution and delivery.
- Serve as a Mocean’s production point of contact for key clients, building trust through proactive communication and reliable delivery.
- Partner with finance and leadership on forecasting, resourcing, and margin management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Resource Optimization & Talent Management
- Oversee production budgets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and profitability.
- Oversee and optimize resource allocation across projects and disciplines to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with team leads to anticipate staffing needs, manage freelance resourcing, and balance workloads across projects.
- Onboard new hires to ensure consistent understanding of workflows, tools, and expectations.
- Set clear goals, provide coaching and mentorship, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and creative problem-solving.
- Identify skill gaps and help shape development plans that strengthen team capabilities.
- Support project execution by producing smaller or high-priority projects and advising senior producers on asset production for clients.
- Negotiate with vendors, freelancers, and external partners to achieve best value while maintaining quality.
Workflow Systems & Tools
- Develop and implement scalable production processes, workflows, and tools that support cross-departmental collaboration.
- Lead implementation, training, and adoption of key tools such as Float, Basecamp, Airtable, and other workflow platforms.
- Continuously evaluate and refine tools and templates to improve visibility, communication, and efficiency.
- Advocate for production best practices and set clear expectations with both internal teams and external partners.
Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration
- Ensure production meets creative vision, client expectations, and Mocean’s quality standards.
- Collaborate with creative, strategy, and account leads to align production approaches with project goals and client needs.
- Streamline information flow, ensuring teams are informed and can deliver work efficiently and at the highest quality.
- Support leadership by surfacing progress reports, risks, and resource insights.
Process, Documentation & Onboarding
- Build and manage production schedules and resourcing plans across multiple projects.
- Track project health, flag risks early, and keep work on time and on budget.
- Champion continuous improvement through team feedback and performance metrics.
Requirements
- 8+ years of production or operations experience within a creative agency, production company, or studio, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep expertise in content production across formats (digital, design, social, broadcast, experiential, influencer, etc.).
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (Float, Basecamp, Airtable or similar).
- Proven experience managing production budgets, schedules, and resources at scale.
- Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills
- Comfortable managing both strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Compensation + Benefits Annual salary: $140,000 - $180,000. The final salary offered will be dependent on factors such as experience, location, and budget. Benefits include generous paid time off, including 10 holidays, six sick days annually (for FTE), subsidized health insurance (medical, dental, vision), short/long term disability, family planning benefits, 401(k) with company match and more. Hybrid schedule; minimum two days per week of remote work.
